UKHospitality launches new security guidance for accommodation providers

UKHospitality has been developing a set of principles and good practice guidance for the wider sector on guest safety and security in accommodation businesses. This guidance combines operational experience, practical examples and established good practice to provide comprehensive guidance on one of the most important aspects of guest safety and security – protecting guest privacy and ensuring that access to accommodation is managed safely and appropriately.

The guidance recognises that accommodation providers operate in a wide variety of settings. A large city-centre hotel, a rural holiday park, and an independent guest house may all face different challenges. Different business models require different approaches and there can be no single solution that applies in every circumstance. The document sets out a framework of principles and recommendations that businesses can adapt to their own circumstances through risk assessment, staff training and operational planning.
