Devon Business Support Programme

What does the programme offer?

Running a business can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging. Having access to practical advice, expert guidance, and the right support at the right time can make a real difference. If you’re running a business – or thinking of starting one – you can access free, tailored support that is shaped by you and your business goals. Eligible businesses and entrepreneurs can access up to six hours of fully funded support, primarily through one-to-one sessions with an experienced, local business advisor, alongside a programme of workshops and specialist support.

Who’s it for?

The programme is open to established businesses, farmers, and aspiring entrepreneurs based in:

• East Devon,
• Exeter,
• Mid Devon,
• Teignbridge,
• South Hams,
• West Devon.

For businesses and entrepreneurs in North Devon and Torridge, support is delivered by North Devon+ under the Business Boost programme in partnership with Devon County Council. Support is available to established businesses and entrepreneurs including sole traders, micro businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), social enterprises, community interest companies (CIC).

Businesses and business ideas can be from any sector, including farming and agricultural businesses. 

What Will the Support Look Like? 

Every business journey is different, which is why this isn’t a one-size-fits-all programme. Your advisor will take time to understand your business or business idea, your business goals, and any challenges you’re facing. Together, you’ll identify priorities and agreed practical steps. Depending on your business needs, support may include:

• Up to six hours of fully funded advice,
• One-to-one sessions (online or in-person)
• Practical, impartial guidance from an expert advisor,
• Help exploring a particular challenge, opportunity, or business idea,
• Clear and manageable next steps,
• Access to relevant workshops on selected business topics.
