If you use Companies House services, you may soon notice changes. GOV.UK One Login will soon become the main way to sign in to the Find and update company information service.
The sign-in screen will change in late August. GOV.UK One Login will become the main sign-in option.
If you already have an account, you can keep signing in with your existing details for now. This option will be further down the sign-in page. However, all new users will need a GOV.UK One Login to access Companies House services.
What is GOV.UK One Login?
GOV.UK One Login lets you access a wide range of government services using a single email address and password. Signing in requires your email address, password, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) via an authenticator app or SMS. It also makes your Companies House account more secure. Online services began moving to the Gov.UK One Login from autumn 2024.
In the future, all users will need to move to GOV.UK One Login. We’ll give you plenty of notice before that happens.
This change is to the sign-in process only — you are not being asked to verify your identity.
