Established in 2015, Building Plymouth is an award winning, Council-led sector skills partnership with the construction and built environment sector, driving skills, training and employment, facilitating opportunities for social value, and acts as the united voice for the industry. Their vision is to close the skills shortages and skills gaps by attracting and creating a supply of people to match the demand for local construction and built environment employers.
With a £9 billion investment pipeline and plans to deliver 10,000 new homes alongside major city centre regeneration, the construction industry in Plymouth and the wider southwest region is critical to the delivery of accelerated economic growth, and to the current pipeline of work that is being undertaken now and in the future as part of the Defence Growth Deal being led by Team Plymouth.
Collectively employing a 9,000+ strong workforce, Plymouth has a well-established, mature and capable construction community with a breadth of expertise which makes this a very adaptable and responsive marketplace.
